You can prevent a lifetime of agony for the next generation
Within the next decade, we envision a future where no infant’s hip dysplasia goes undiagnosed – preventing a lifetime of pain and mobility challenges. Your generosity will reach Canada’s remote communities, support accessible healthcare, and directly help us reach more babies with this innovative technology. Looking into the future, you can see your support reducing the pressure on our healthcare system, positively impacting surgical wait times that are too great, and decreasing the need for hip surgeries and care.
Your opportunity to create the healthcare of tomorrow
Arthritis Society Canada invites you to join us in this groundbreaking journey to transform arthritis care. We are working to raise $5 million to bring this visionary project to life. With an investment of just $10,000, you can help deploy a state-of-the-art ultrasound probe, improving arthritis diagnosis and treatment while saving healthcare costs.
Your support will help us to expand this crucial technology to 25 locations across Alberta and British Columbia within the next five years, setting a precedent for national adoption. This is more than a healthcare initiative; it is a movement toward pre-emptive care that promises a future where osteoarthritis can be stopped before it even starts.
We are already working in partnership with the University of Alberta to bring this work to life and will be seeking an additional $5 million in funding opportunities from government. This $10 million investment and collaborative approach will save the healthcare system millions of dollars while reducing future cases of osteoarthritis due to undiagnosed and untreated hip dysplasia.
With your support, we will revolutionize hip dysplasia diagnosis, expand the use of this state-of-the-art technology to more communities, and reach underserved and high-risk communities. The NAPS Project will prioritize Indigenous babies, whose incidence of hip dysplasia is 12 times higher, and rural and remote communities, where screening is often limited.
The power is in your hands.
