Triple your impact to help people in Canada living with arthritis

For many people, winter brings to mind activities such as ice skating, gift shopping for friends and celebrating with loved ones. For the six million Canadians living with arthritis, these activities – if they’re even possible – can bring agony.

That’s why it is so important to offer the arthritis community hope at this especially challenging time – and this holiday season, there’s an opportunity for three times as much hope!

Any gift made by December 31, 2023, will be tripled thanks to a generous gift from the Raymond Chang Foundation.

Accelerating leading-edge research is one way to offer hope. Donors who give to Arthritis Society Canada help to fuel the projects of innovative researchers across the country working to improve the diagnosis, treatment and management of this devastating disease. Critically, research holds the key to a cure.

Uncovering much-needed reprieve

Dr. Roman KrawetzOne researcher we support is the University of Calgary’s Dr. Roman Krawetz, who is focused on improving treatment for osteoarthritis, the most common form of the disease. His team is targeting drugs that enhance joint lubrication and reduce cartilage damage to ease pain – a warming thought for the four million people in Canada living with osteoarthritis.

“For many people living with osteoarthritis, excruciating pain is the norm. It shouldn’t be. My team is working tirelessly to bring relief to the osteoarthritis community, but we need donor support. It could be the difference between a solution and more suffering.” –Dr. Roman Krawetz

Donate today to fund important work like Dr. Krawetz’s research, and to support the essential programs and resources we offer to the one in five people in Canada living with arthritis. Your gift will go three times as far if you give before the end of the year!

About Arthritis Society Canada

Arthritis Society Canada is dedicated to extinguishing arthritis.

Donor support is critical because without action now, the number of Canadians living with arthritis will soon grow to nine million.

Our donors are heroes. Donations provide essential financial support for initiatives like research that bring us closer to finding better treatments and, ultimately, a cure. We thank each of our everyday heroes, who share our vision of extinguishing arthritis.

*Thanks to our generous donors, the Raymond Chang Foundation, your gift will be matched, tripling in value. The first $300,000 received by midnight on December 31, 2023 is eligible for this special matching gift opportunity.

Our promise to you: Arthritis Society Canada is committed to honouring your generosity and using your donation in the most effective way. If funds are raised in excess of those needed to support the designated purpose, Arthritis Society Canada acting reasonably may designate the donation towards the highest priority needs of the organization.
