Helping bring more to the Canadian arthritis community

a female watching a webinar and taking notesEvery year, Arthritis Society Canada faces arthritis head-on through research, advocacy, innovation, information and support. The goal is to improve the lives of those with arthritis, and this is possible through partnerships. Arthritis Society Canada is proud to count Massage Addict among its valued partners.

Massage Addict is a therapy clinic providing massage, chiropractic care, acupuncture and reflexology to help clients manage challenges like pain, stress and anxiety – all of which are faced by people with arthritis. It has 116 locations across Canada.

With the generosity of partners like Massage Addict, more Arthritis Society Canada resources, high-value content and programming can be offered, and more people in need of support can be reached. In 2022-23, 3.2 million Canadians were reached with trusted information, up from 2.5 million the previous year.

One area Massage Addict supports is Arthritis Talks, Arthritis Society Canada’s signature webinar series that connects people with arthritis to disease experts. Lifestyle, medication and surgery are a few of the topics covered in the one-hour sessions. Viewers can tune in live or watch recorded sessions at their convenience. Hosted about once a month, webinars are in French and English.

In 2022-23, more than 95,000 people were reached through Arthritis Talks, bringing the total since the series’ inception in 2019 to more than 257,000.

“A highly-valued resource, Arthritis Talks provides answers to questions that aren’t raised elsewhere,” says Ashley Kroening, Senior Director, Mission, Arthritis Society Canada. “People living with arthritis tell me again and again how important the series is to them, and Massage Addict’s support of it plays a part in ensuring its continued success. We’re deeply grateful for their generosity.”
