Arthritis Society statement in response to Newfoundland and Labrador budget
Jone Mitchell - Executive Director, Atlantic Region
We’re pleased today’s budget includes important and specific investments in health care.
Investments in primary care, funding for new drug therapies and support to encourage physical activity is positive news for the residents of Newfoundland and Labrador.
We are pleased the government will use the Health Accord NL’s work to improve the health-care system for the people of the province. We look forward to working with the government as it re-imagines its health-care system. We believe reducing wait times for joint replacement surgery should be a top priority and our Wait Times report provides action-oriented solutions. We encourage the government to work with all stakeholders to address this urgent health crisis.
