Certolizumab Pegol

Certolizumab is used to treat inflammatory types of arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) by blocking tumour necrosis factor (TNF) and preventing it from causing inflammation. Certolizumab suppresses the body’s immune system but can also increase your risk of certain infections.

Bimekizumab

Bimekizumab is used to treat inflammatory conditions such as ankylosing spondylitis (AS), non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis, psoriatic arthritis (PsA), and psoriasis. It works by binding to an inflammatory cytokine called IL-17A and IL-17F to reduce inflammation. Since it affects the immune system, it can also increase the risk of infections.

Belimumab

Belimumab is a biologic medication used to treat adults with lupus (systemic lupus erythematosus, also called SLE) and lupus nephritis. SLE is caused by your body making antibodies that attack your own cells. Belimumab treats SLE by blocking the cells that make these antibodies, known as B-cells. Belimumab can help suppress an overactive immune system. . .

Baricitinib

Baricitinib is a Disease-Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drug (DMARD) used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA) by inhibiting an enzyme called Janus kinase (JAK) which would otherwise trigger numerous inflammatory reactions. Baricitinib can help suppress an overactive immune system but can also increase your risk of certain infections.

Azathioprine

Azathioprine may be used to treat a number of inflammatory conditions such as Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA; formerly known as Wegener’s granulomatosis) and lupus. Azathioprine can also be used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA), but it is no longer commonly used for this condition. Azathioprine works by reducing the ability of immune cells to replicate, suppressing an overactive immune system.. . .

Apremilast

Apremilast is used to treat inflammatory types of arthritis, such as psoriatic arthritis (PsA). Apremilast blocks phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE-4) which is a molecule that triggers many different inflammatory processes. Apremilast may cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Speak to a healthcare provider if these side effects are intolerable.

Anifrolumab

Anifrolumab is used in addition to standard therapy (oral corticosteroids and/or immunosuppressants and/or antimalarials) for the treatment of adult patients with active, autoantibody positive, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). It works by blocking the action of a group of proteins called Type I Interferons (IFN) by binding to a portion of the type I interferon receptor (IFNAR1) thereby. . .

Anakinra

Anakinra is used to treat inflammatory types of arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Anakinra works by blocking interleukin-1 (IL-1) which triggers inflammation in your body. Blocking this can halt the underlying cause of RA and prevent joint damage. Anakinra can help suppress an overactive immune system but can also increase your risk of certain infections.

Allopurinol

Allopurinol is used to lower uric acid in the blood, to prevent attacks of gout. Allopurinol is not used to treat inflammatory arthritis or osteoarthritis. Allopurinol may cause a rash which, in rare cases, may develop into a serious skin reaction. If you experience a rash while using allopurinol, stop the medication immediately and consult your. . .
