Arthritis Fire BallTM Toronto continues to inspire and ignite hope at third annual event

November 4, 2024 (TORONTO) – On Saturday, November 2, Arthritis Society Canada celebrated another incredible Arthritis Fire BallTM Toronto at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. Featuring a special live performance from Juno award-winning vocal group and Arthritis Society Canada’s ambassadors, The Tenors, the 3rd annual event was nothing short of electric.

Fueled by the support of donors and volunteers, this elegant black-tie affair welcomed 800 attendees to celebrate the strength, resilience and perseverance of people living with arthritis. Guests heard moving stories from Zac Spinosa, whose juvenile idiopathic arthritis stole his teen years, Tina Moffat, whose severe osteoarthritis stole her ability to be part of society, and Brigette Chang and daughter Savanna, whose arthritis stole Brigette’s ability to be the mother to Savanna that she wanted to be.

“Arthritis is a chronic and incurable disease that steals mobility and quality of life from the 6 million people in Canada it affects,” said Trish Barbato, president and CEO, Arthritis Society Canada. “As an urgent health concern in need of immediate action, we must work together to help take back what arthritis has stolen and help end the agony for the 1 in 5 Canadians who live with arthritis.”

Emceed by CTV News Toronto’s co-anchor, Michelle Dubé, additional highlights of Arthritis Fire BallTM Toronto included a gourmet three-course meal, live and silent auctions, entertainment from Neon Nostalgic and Eddy and Quincy Bullen, a dynamic afterparty, and an outstanding $875,000 raised to end the agony of arthritis.

All funds raised from Arthritis Fire BallTM Toronto will provide essential programs and support groundbreaking research for the 1 in 4 women, 1 in 6 men and more than 25,000 children living with arthritis in Canada.
