Massage Addict clinics across Canada partner with The Arthritis Society

September 5, 2017

“Hands on for arthritis” will donate $5 from every massage

Massage Addict clinics nation-wide will be raising money for The Arthritis Society this September. From Saturday, September 23 until Monday, September 25, Massage Addict will donate $5 from every massage treatment to The Arthritis Society, in recognition of national Arthritis Awareness Month.

“We are proud to be hosting our second annual ‘Hands On for Arthritis’ event in support of The Arthritis Society,” says Massage Addict CEO Fraser Clarke. “This event is near and dear to the hearts of our clients, our therapists and our franchise partners across Canada. During the event, not only will clients receive a high-quality therapeutic massage, but for every massage they will be giving back to The Arthritis Society with a goal to help raise funds for research and education to better the lives of the 4.6 million people who are living with the effects of Arthritis.”

Massage therapy can provide immediate and short-term relief for people who live with arthritis and chronic pain. Massage therapy uses soft tissue manipulation to improve circulation and help release muscle tension. This, in turn, provides better flexibility and relief of pain that makes massage therapy an option worth exploring for many people living with arthritis. The Arthritis Society supports the use of massage therapy on its website.

“This year, Arthritis Awareness Month is focusing on managing Arthritis in the workplace,” says Arthritis Society president and CEO Janet Yale. “Many employers and insurance companies provide massage therapy as a covered benefit and we want to encourage people with Arthritis to take advantage of this. This is our second year partnering with Massage Addict and they continue to be dedicated towards helping Canadians with Arthritis find alternative treatments for chronic pain.”

Massage Addict offers several types of massage therapy, including Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone and trigger point therapy. To book an appointment, contact one of Massage Addict’s over 70 locations in Canada.
