3-Part Breathing

In this video, certified yoga instructor and chair yoga instructor for arthritis, Julia McNally (The RA Yogi), guides participants through a simple four-minute mindful breathing exercise to help calm the mind and body. Like other forms of physical activity, yoga can cause the release of your body’s own painkillers called endorphins.

Before starting any new exercise program, it’s important to speak with your doctor to make sure it’s safe for you. Everyone will have a different level of ability, so some exercises might not be appropriate for all. Go slowly to determine what’s right for your body. With practice, physical activity and exercise will get easier over time.
