About the role

Office support volunteers play an integral role in helping us meet our aims as an organization.  By supporting us with information management and administration tasks, volunteers allow us to achieve more and carry out vital organizational functions more effectively. Whether you're interested in building transferable office skills, helping maintain our databases, or supporting administration tasks, becoming an office support volunteer is a great way of joining a team and contributing directly to our work.

Some examples of an office support role at the Arthritis Society:

  • Work with our Donor Services team to maintain our database and process information
  • Support our team in handling client enquiries, directly interacting with people affected by arthritis
  • Help your local team in the run up to organizing an event

  • Support the Arthritis Society’s mission by contributing to vital operational functions
  • Develop transferable employment skills related to administration and data management
  • Develop time-management and communications skills
  • Give back to the community and impact those living with arthritis
  • Use and develop specialized skills and talents while contributing to the Society’s mission
  • Build connections and be part of a community, and receive ongoing opportunities, training, and mentorship
  • A letter of reference can be provided at the completion of the volunteer term

We have office support roles available across Canada, at both a local and national level.

At the Arthritis Society, we do our best to offer flexible roles that can be adapted to suit the needs and availability of individual volunteers.  The exact time commitment of all positions will depend on many factors including the volunteer position being filled, your schedule, and the Arthritis Society’s needs. Most positions are flexible. For example, you can volunteer by supporting us leading up to an event, or you can help us on an ongoing basis providing regular office support to a team. We do ask our volunteers to commit to a term or season of work with us to enable them to see projects to completion and for all parties to see the full benefit of this volunteer partnership.
