Seniors Living Well with Arthritis

Seniors Living Well with Arthritis is an opportunity to come together as a community to learn about the impacts of arthritis, and gain valuable tools to help manage it.

This one-day conference will bring together experts in the field of arthritis and chronic health management to provide participants with a wealth of knowledge. Join us for this exciting event focused on equipping you with tools to become better self-managers of your arthritis. Enjoy content from our arthritis experts throughout the day, in addition to engaging with our arthritis community during breaks and lunch.

Lunch will be provided to all participants.

As CEO at Spring Loaded, Chris leads corporate financing, strategy, business development, and human performance testing.

  • Dr. Jason Kielly, Clinical Pharmacist

    Dr. Jason Kielly graduated from Memorial University, School of Photo of Dr. Jason Kielly
    Pharmacy in 2004. After graduation he worked as a community pharmacist for one year, mainly in the St. John’s area. In October 2005 he moved to Memphis, Tennessee and continued to work as a community pharmacist.

    Dr. Kielly joined the School of Pharmacy at Memorial University as the Drug Information Pharmacist in October 2007 and worked in this position until 2010. Upon completion of his PharmD from the University of Toronto in 2010, he accepted a position as a faculty member with the school. He is currently a clinical pharmacist with Eastern Health’s Rheumatic Health Program.

  • Dr. Sam Aseer, Rheumatologist

    Photo of Dr. Sam AseerDr. Sam Aseer is currently a Rheumatologist at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital with Eastern Health in St. John’s. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Memorial University. Dr. Aseer obtained his M.D. at Saint George’s University, School of Medicine, Grenada, West Indies.


  • Dr. Shaina Goudie, Rheumatologist

    Dr. Shaina Goudie is a Rheumatologist, practicing at Photo of Dr. Shaina Goudie
    the Ropewalk Lane location of ProActive Wellness and Prevention. Dr. Goudie chose to work with the team at ProActive because she values a community-based multidisciplinary team approach. When not at work, you’ll find Dr. Goudie spending time at the cabin with her family.

  • Carolyn Jerrett, Registered Dietician

    Carolyn Jerrett has been a Registered Dietitian since 2011 after obtaining her dietetic degree from Acadia University in Wolfville, NS and completing her internship with Colchester Regional Hospital in Truro, NS. Her past work experience spans various areas of dietetics including clinical outpatient settings, long term care and food service areas within Eastern Health. Currently she works in Community Dietetics with Sobeys at their Howley Estates location where she offers various free nutrition sessions focusing on nutrition management for chronic diseases. Other popular programs offered include the mediterranean diet, plant based eating, healthy weight management, healthy lifestyle and “Taste and Learn” information sessions where participants taste test food and take home recipes.

    Salem Werdyani is a PhD Candidate in Human Genetics at Memorial University's Faculty of Medicine.
