Seniors Living Well with Arthritis is an opportunity to come together as a community to learn about the impacts of arthritis, and gain valuable tools to help manage it. This one-day conference will bring together experts in the field of arthritis and chronic health management to provide participants with a wealth of knowledge.

Join us for this exciting event focused on equipping you with tools to become better self-managers of your arthritis. Enjoy content from our arthritis experts, in addition to engaging with our arthritis community exhibitors throughout the day!

Lunch will be provided to all registered participants.

Speakers

  • Dr. Frances LeBlanc, Chiropractor

    Photo of France LeblancDr. Frances LeBlanc is the CEO of the New Brunswick Chiropractors’ Association and Prince Edward Island Chiropractic Association, consultant and chiropractor at Rehab One Performance Center in Moncton, NB. Frances completed a bachelor’s degree and graduate studies in psychology at the Université de Moncton. She later graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and further completing a Master’s in Public Policy, Administration and Law at York University. Frances has recently achieved the Certified Association Executive designation.

    Frances’ is a passionate advocate and continues to support the work of numerous organizations and groups, including as Chair of the NB Coalition for Pay Equity, Chair of the Atlantic Council of the Canadian Society for Association Executives, Executive Member of the Women in Business Initiative, and as Best Practice Collaborator for the Canadian Chiropractic Guideline Initiative among others.

  • Dr. Sylvie Ouellette MD, FRCPC – Living Well with Arthritis

    Photo of Sylvie OuelletteDr. Sylvie Ouellette is a community rheumatologist, who’s been based at the Moncton Hospital since 2010. Prior to this, she worked as a community rheumatologist in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia for 11 years. Dr. Ouellette completed a Bachelor of Science from the University of New Brunswick. She obtained her Medical Degree from Dalhousie University and then trained in Internal Medicine and rheumatology at Queen’s University.

    In addition, Dr. Ouellette is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Memorial University of Newfoundland, an Assistant Professor at Dalhousie University and teaches with the Northumberland Health Unit (Family Medicine residents (Dalhousie University)), and medical students (Dalhousie and Memorial Universities).

    Dr. Ouellette is a member of the Canadian Association of Rheumatology, a member of the Society of Atlantic Rheumatologists and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. In addition, she is on committees for the Faculty of Medicine Admissions Committee at Dalhousie University and the SAQ Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Rheumatology).

  • Lynn Fletcher, Occupational Therapist – Adaptations for Daily Activity

    Photo of Lynn FletcherLynn Fletcher is an Occupational Therapist working with the Rheumatology Wellness Program and Chronic Pain Management Service at Horizon Health in Saint John, NB. Lynn has been working for over 20 years in both the community and hospital setting and has worked in both Canada and the United States. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree at UNB Fredericton, she received her degree in Occupational Therapy at Dalhousie University. 

    Lynn has volunteered with the Arthritis Society for several years as a speaker and Arthritis Walk organizer in Saint John. She operates a private practice as well providing Occupational Therapy services to southern New Brunswick.

  • Mindy MacKinnon, Nurse Educator – Medical Cannabis

    Photo of Mindy MackinnonMindy is passionate about using medical cannabis as an option to treat chronic disease. Previously, she worked as a field nurse performing biologic injections for patients and has experience in the hospital and nursing home sectors. Mindy received her LPN from the New Brunswick Community College.
