Together, we’ll be raising awareness and funds for arthritis research that has us one step closer to a cure, as well as programs like Camp JoinTogether that have enabled hundreds of children living with arthritis to attend summer camp.

About Mayor Mike Savage

Mike Savage was elected Mayor of Halifax Regional Municipality for a third term on October 17, 2020. As Mayor, it has been his mission to improve the health of our communities, economy, and sustainability practices. Prior to his election as Mayor, Mike Savage served three terms as Member of Parliament for Dartmouth-Cole Harbour and chaired the Liberal Party Post-Secondary and Research Caucus. Before entering the world of politics, Savage was a business leader in Halifax and was involved in numerous community organizations focused on health, the arts, education and humanitarian work. Mayor Mike Savage and his wife Darlene have two adult children and live in Dartmouth where Mayor Mike Savage grew up and attended school before graduating from Dalhousie University.

• East Coast Roast 2024 - 30th Anniversary Event

  The 30th Anniversary East Coast Roast, presented by MacGillivray Law and CTV, celebrated 33 alumni roastees, millions of dollars raised, and healthier communities in Atlantic Canada. Our returning emcee, Steve Murphy, was effortlessly engaging, and comedian Shaun Majumder provided us with a lifetime of laughs. We're grateful to everyone who helped us commemorate three incredible decades of raising awareness and funds for research that has us one step closer to a cure, and programs like Camp JoinTogether that have enabled hundreds of children living with arthritis to attend summer camp.

• East Coast Roast 2023 - Cory Bell

  Arthritis Society Canada’s 29th East Coast Roast, presented by Lindsay Construction and Ocean Contractors, raised a total of $340,000 thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and attendees. Friends and family gathered at the Halifax Convention Centre on Tuesday, April 25th, 2023, to recognize Lindsay Construction President and CEO, Cory Bell for his contributions to community and philanthropy. Funds raised from the gala benefit vital research, local programming, and the quest for a cure for arthritis.
