Speakers
Gordon D. Ko MD PhD FCFP(EM) FRCPC FAAPMR (Physiatry-University of Toronto faculty and OMA Speakers bureau) is Medical Director, Canadian Centre for Integrative Medicine.
As past-president for the Canadian Association of Orthopaedic Medicine, he is a well know advocate for emerging evidence-based therapies that complement conventional drugs and surgery for arthritis.
In the field of Regenerative Medicine, he pioneered and published on the use of PRP (Platelet-rich plasma injections) for chronic low back pain. This and the off-label use of Botox for knee osteoarthritis made headlines on CTV National News (www.DrKoPRP.com). He advocates for Functional Medicine (correcting microbiome/ epigenetic root causes) and Neuroplasticity approaches to eliminate pain and optimize quality of life. Quoting Desmond Tutu: “There comes a point where we need to stop just pulling people out of the river. We need to go upstream and find out why they’re falling in.”
