Our Revenue Development Team:  

Our revenue development team is made up of talented fundraising professionals across Canada, in the areas of major giving, direct response, annual giving, corporate, and fundraising events, who work closely with our community of generous loyal donors to turn shared visions, passions and interests into meaningful impact in fighting the fire of arthritis. We are a national charity with local impact, and the donations from these individuals makes a difference for people living with arthritis in every province.

Purpose of Role: 

The Event Coordinator (Contract) will play a crucial role in supporting our British Columbia - Manager, Events with our upcoming fundraising and donor events such as our Donor Celebration Event (October 2023), Planned Giving (November) and Fire Ball (May 2024) and other related initiatives. If you are a dynamic and organized individual with a passion for event planning, communication, attention to detail, and execution, we encourage you to apply. This 8-month contract experience offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fundraising event management and donor relations. 

 

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Take the lead on planning, solicitating, writing, and executing the silent auction.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the gala committee, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and handling documentation.
  • Support the Manager, Events with to ensure successful event planning and execution for all fundraising and donor relations events. 
  • Assist in creating registration and seating to maximize fundraising and donor stewardship. 
  • Ensure donors and sponsors,  recognition promises are fulfilled.  Assist in pre-event promotion 
  • Ensure all gift in kind is entered into Raisers Edge and materials are provided to finance
  • Assist in post-event clean-up and evaluation to ensure a seamless experience for all attendees.
  • Assist with thank you and stewardship reports for guests and sponsors.
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Manager, Events or Vice President, Western Canada.


Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional writing skills.
  • Brilliant communication and phone skills. 
  • Proficiency in administrative tasks, including scheduling and documentation. 
  • Raiser Edge skills is an asset.
  • Previous experience in event planning and execution is an asset. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing event needs.
  • Enthusiastic and energetic approach to problem-solving and customer service. 
  • Thrives in working in a fast-paced environment.
