Dr. Evelyn Sutton is a Professor of Medicine and Medical Education at Dalhousie University where she is also the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Medical Education.

She was the Assistant Dean of Admissions for Dalhousie Medicine from 2006-2015, Program Director for the rheumatology training program (1994-2005) and before joining the university in a full-time capacity in 1999, spent 10 years in a community-based practice.

She is the administrative director of the Nova Scotia Health Pulmonary Artery Hypertension Program and Director of the Nova Scotia Arthritis Centre. She is an active member of the Canadian Scleroderma Research Group and was formerly a member of the recently dissolved Arthritis Alliance of Canada.

Her career has focused primarily on clinical care, medical education and advocacy for patients with arthritis. She has worked with the Arthritis Society to convince the provincial government that inflammatory arthritis is a chronic disease. She has received numerous awards for excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. In 2014, she was awarded the Canadian Rheumatology Association Teacher-Educator Award.
