AbbVie(formerly Abbott Laboratories)
Nationally, through an educational grant, AbbVie made it possible for The Arthritis Society to identify and address the management of musculoskeletal diseases (specifically arthritis) in the workplace through an initiative called “Fit for Work”.
This initiative brings together key stakeholders, such as people directly affected by arthritis, policy-makers, employers, benefits managers and insurance providers to help augment The Arthritis Society’s understanding of the issues and barriers facing those living with arthritis and increase its awareness and appreciation of the challenges they face. The result of this collaboration will enable the Society to identify ways in which all stakeholders can participate in improving employee engagement in the workforce.
AbbVie also plays an important part in helping the Divisions to accomplish their mission. They support the Education Programs held in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nova Scotia and Ontario (Corporate cAre); the Speakers Bureau in New Brunswick and Newfoundland and sponsor The Bluebird Gala in BC and the Camp Articulation, a camp for children living with juvenile arthritis, in Quebec.
