It’s September, and for this year’s edition of the Toronto Blue Jays™, that means the drama and excitement of a pennant race.
And as fans across the country watch their heroes in blue hit, run and throw their way to the top of the standings, it also means a great opportunity to support people living with arthritis.
In support of Arthritis Awareness Month, the makers of ALEVE® have partnered with Jays Care Foundation™ and The Arthritis Society to help #StrikeOutArthritis!
From August 23 to September 29, every time a Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher strikes out an opponent during a home game, ALEVE, in partnership with Jays Care Foundation will make a $1,200 donation to The Arthritis Society. That amount jumps up to $2,500 for a game-ending strikeout.
“We are pleased to continue our support of The Arthritis Society,” said Liz Beemer, Senior Vice President, Canadian Division Head, Consumer Health Division, “and to do so in partnership with Jays Care Foundation a great addition. The Blue Jays turn to their relief pitchers when the game is at its toughest. Many Canadians do the same thing; they turn to ALEVE to help provide relief from mild to moderate arthritis pain and inflammation to help get them through the toughest part of their day*.”
“The support of ALEVE and the Blue Jays will allow us to provide more solutions for the 4.6 million Canadians living with arthritis,” said Janet Yale, president and CEO of The Arthritis Society, “and will help fund research to create a future free from arthritis pain. Together we will help #StrikeOutArthritis.”
The pennant race is heating up, so be sure to follow along with us on Twitter (@ArthritisSoc) and Facebook (facebook.com/ArthritisSociety) as we cheer on the boys in the bullpen!
