July 1, 2017
Team OliviaRaising more than $1.25 million dollars and showing support for the millions who live with the chronic pain, inflammation and mobility restrictions of arthritis, more than 8000 Canadians in 41 communities joined The Arthritis Society to Walk to Fight Arthritis.

In Nova Scotia, three Walk sites, in Berwick, Halifax and Sydney raised over $70,000 for the 1 in 4 Nova Scotians living with arthritis – the highest prevalence in Canada. More than 400 participants took steps toward an arthritis-free future while raising awareness and celebrating those with the strength and courage it takes to fight this devastating disease.

“Every night before bed I thought, should I do the Walk to Fight Arthritis?” recalled Olivia, Nova Scotia’s 10-year old Walk Superhero. “Then I thought, I want to find a cure. Arthritis feels like pain and sadness and no one should have to feel this way.”

Olivia put her strategy and dedication to the test, and raised more than $7000.00, taking home the title of Top Child Fundraiser in Halifax.
