Ease of Use

March 1, 2016

The Arthritis Society’s Ease of Use program keeps you in the loop about products that are designed to accommodate the challenges of living life with arthritis. An independent expert tests products to ensure that their design incorporates significant features that make them easier for people with arthritis to hold, use, or interact with. Approved products are listed at arthritis.ca/easeofuse.

For companies, this means they receive the Arthritis Society’s Ease of Use certification for their product, and can promote their product as being arthritis-friendly. For consumers, this means more products on the market and more choices designed with you in mind.

Flexon Guard n GripFlexon recently re-registered their Guard-n-Grip series of garden hose products that make connecting and disconnecting the garden hose easier for everyone – including people with arthritis in the hands, fingers, or wrists. “Flexon is proud to be endorsed by The Arthritis Society for our Guard-N-Grip hose connector,” says Chris Cardone, Graphic Design/Marketing Lead. “Having the Society’s bluebird on our packaging means a lot: it assures our customers that they're purchasing a product that is designed with their needs in mind, reducing the effects of arthritis while doing yard work and outdoor projects that require a hose.”

Sanctuary Walk In TubPremier Care Bathing re-registered their barrier-free, low-entry home bathing solutions that are designed to help preserve independence for people with mobility restrictions. “Our mission is to help customers remain independent in their home,” says Premier Care president Justin Cooper. “Like The Arthritis Society, we understand the importance of reducing the effects of arthritis, and we’ve engineered our products to meet the Ease of Use standard by making them easy and safe to use, including our soothing Hydrovescent Therapy. It’s a program more manufacturers would be well-advised to consider.”
