An open letter to our volunteers

May 1, 2017
To YOU, our amazing volunteer:

April 23-29 is National Volunteer Week in Canada. A week never feels like enough time to truly show our appreciation for everything you do to help people living with arthritis.

We know you have other options – it’s a big world out there, and there are lots of worthwhile causes to support. That’s why it means so much that you choose to give your time, talent and passion to support The Arthritis Society and the people we serve.

You might be the face at the door, helping erase the stigma of arthritis one person at a time. You might be the voice on the phone, offering your experience and compassion to someone adjusting to life with this disease. You might be the helping hand that brings education events to your community, keeps our offices functioning, or inspires people to fund research that will deliver a cure.

Whichever way you lend your hand, never doubt that your contribution matters. It does – in more ways than you can imagine. Because of you, Canadians with arthritis know that there is someone in their corner. That they don’t have to face this disease alone.

So on behalf of The Arthritis Society and the over 4.6 million Canadians living with arthritis, please allow us to say THANK YOU for everything you do to make those lives better. It’s a simple message, but it’s from the heart: You inspire us. You help us see what’s possible – and then go and do it.

Thank you for being a volunteer.

Warmest regards,

Janet
