Our Impact

'I will never give up. The disease must live with me.'

Our Impact Report covering 2014-15 is guided by A Day in the Life theme, and for the first time features letters written by a host of Canadians about their experiences with arthritis. Discover the challenges, the hope, the research, the special relationships, the support and the efforts of eight special individuals. And find out the major strides we took in fulfilling our mission to erase the pain of arthritis. If you know of any great story touching on arthritis, please email info@arthritis.ca.

Survey on Medical Cannabis

What do you think? Medical cannabis for arthritis pain

Take part in a 5-minute poll to share your thoughts on medical cannabis – a very hot topic these days. The Society is developing materials to help Canadians with arthritis who have questions about this form of treatment. To create the most relevant, meaningful information, we need to discover what's important to you, what you would like to learn, and what you think about this topic overall. Thank you very much for your time!

Early Diagnosis for Psoriatic Arthritis

Psoriatic arthritis: a tool for earlier diagnosis

Early diagnosis and early treatment are keys to a better outcome with psoriatic arthritis. A research team in Toronto is nearly finished with one of the world's most accurate screening tools to help spot the disease quickly.

Arthritis Online Education

Take charge of your treatment

Learn how to get the most out of any clinic appointment with our newest online educational program: "You and Your Health-Care Provider: A Guide for Effective Conversations." As the most important member of your treatment team, you ultimately manage your own care. Head to arthritis.ca/education to explore this program, learn more about the players involved in providing you with care, and try out two symptom-tracking tools that will help identify ways to better manage arthritis.

These new patient empowerment resources are made possible thanks to the support of our National Education Partner, Pfizer Canada.

Thank you for your Impact

Thank you Canada

On Canada's birthday, we want to thank everyone who made the 2015 Walk to Fight Arthritis a huge success. Our community united in over 25 cities coast-to-coast, raising $1.1 million to fund research and local programs and services to help people living with pain. Less than 20% of our revenue comes from government sources; the vast majority comes to us through donations by people like you, whether for the Walk or throughout the year.

To see how donations fuel our mission, please check out our brand new 2014/15 Impact Report.

A small gesture can make a big difference. We can erase the pain of arthritis together and help millions of people in the process.
