Ron Smith is the chair of the Board of The Arthritis Society. Ron Smith is a former Chief Financial Officer of Emera Inc. and Maritime Tel and Tel prior to the merger that created Bell Aliant.

Kenneth Smith

Vice Chair

​Ken Smith holds a B.Sc. in mathematics from York University, and an MBA, M.Sc. and PhD in mathematics from the University of Toronto. He began his 24 year career as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company and is currently with SECOR Consulting.

Drew McArthur

Past Chair

Drew McArthur is the Past Chair of The Arthritis Society. He is a former Vice-President of Corporate Affairs and Chief Compliance Officer for TELUS Communications.

Duncan Mathieson

Treasurer, Chair, Audit & Finance Committee

Duncan Mathieson attended Queen's University. He is currently the Treasurer of the Board and Chair of the Audit & Finance Committee.

Carmelita Thompson O’Neill

Carmelita Thompson O’Neill (M.A., B.A.) is the President of CommunicateWELL Inc.. She holds her Masters degree in Corporate and Political Communication and carries a wealth of knowledge and experience in Communications for public organizations, government departments and private enterprises.

Nancy Hopkins

​Nancy Hopkins is a business lawyer with extensive governance experience on boards of public companies, not for profit and membership organizations and Crown corporations.  She has a business degree in computer science and law degree from the University of Saskatchewan.

Martin Daraiche is a strategic advisor in Canadian public affairs, social license and crisis management. He specializes in the health, natural resource and energy sectors, working on topics that are of foremost concern to CEOs and executives.
