Role Profile:

Reporting to the Regional Director, Arthritis Rehabilitation and Education Program, the Therapist is an independent primary care provider who is responsible for the provision of evidence-based, client-centered rehabilitation of people with arthritis. The Therapist facilitates the delivery of coordinated and efficient care in the community, and provides care using a Primary Therapist model and a high level of accountability, operating with sole responsibility to deliver an extensive range of client management activities, within a broad scope of practice.

Required Skills and Experience:

The successful candidate will possess a degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy and be a member in good standing of the relevant regulatory College of Ontario. At least one year of clinical experience is preferred, with expertise and competence in clinical practice, group leadership and education required. Experience providing best-practice and evidence-based rehabilitation and education programming, ideally for people with arthritis and their families, is strongly preferred, with working knowledge of splinting ideal. Strong computer skills, with prior experience and proficiency using database programs and the Microsoft Office suite of products are a must.   

The role will involve travel throughout the GTA (potentially north to Barrie and east to Oshawa a few times per month) and will include both clinic and home visits. As such, regular access to a motor vehicle, a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel, is essential. Please note that this is a 1-year maternity leave coverage contract, centering on a 35-hour working week between Monday and Friday inclusive.
